Davao Punch Pride from Davao City

From August 11 down to August 21, Davao City







 DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte lauded the initiatives of the Davao tourism sector in coming up with the "Davao Punch", a welcome and inviting drink given to arriving visitors at the Davao International Airport.
Davao Punch is a non alcoholic drink with a combination of guava, calamansi and Davao pomelo. 

“Duterte punch" will cause the city no harm but only good things, there is no reason to stop giving "Davao Punch" to tourists. A young Lass in colorful authentic tribal costume holds a drink in her hand with the caption: “FLY TO DAVAO AND WE WILL WELCOME YOU WITH A GOOD PUNCH. At the Davao International Airport, experience our welcome drink, DAVAO PUNCH, a concoction especially made for the guests of Davao City.”

The Best Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan Pride from Davao City


Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, a street dancing competition, was one of the main highlights of the 25th Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival. It showcased the different the different colors, cultures and traditional dances of the different tribes of Davao and Mindanao.

Davao City is annual festive mood  for this year, we're on a month-long good and abundant  harvest celebration and highlights of this festival is giving honor as well as pride of 11 ethnic  tribes of this region. Davao City is the most important city in Mindanao and the largest city in Asia in terms of land area - occupying more than 244,000 hectares. Its population according to the 2000 Census is 1,147,116.

We're packed with so many activities, events and game  for your choice of indoor and outdoor fun.All of these brings live music, dance, trade fairs, fashion shows, and performances as a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. This year 2011 festival is handled by our  beloved Major Sarah Duterte and by His Father Honorable Rodrigo Duterte and all of the staff of Davao City.
Highlights of this year's celebration are the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, Floral Float Parade and  Hiyas sa Kadayawan.

Description: This 10-day street market will showcase the bounties of Davao which is the central reason of thanksgiving during this Kadayawan Festival. It will showcase our fruit growers and Davao’s best products. Entertainment and food concessionaires will also be available for shoppers.

Description: Mindanao Dance Competition This is a competition of Mindanao myths, legends and folklores transformed into dance narratives by Mindanao-based dance groups. Outstanding dance critiques and choreographers will interact with the Mindanao choreographers during dance evaluation and citation.
Lumadnong Bantawan: Indigenous Peoples Performance Showcase

Description: Performance showcases of dance, songs and other ceremonies fit for public performances of the 10 focused Davao tribes namely-Ata Manobo, Bagobo Tagabawa, Ubo Manobo, K’lata, Matigsalog, Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Sama and the Kalagans. Craft making will also be showcased as these and crops from each tribe will also be available for sale.
